Dr. Magat grew up in south Georgia.  He is board certified in General Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.  Prior to opening up his private practice, Dr. Magat has served as a staff psychiatrist on the child and adolescent unit of Central State Hospital in Milledgeville, GA, and Avita Community Partners in Cumming, GA.  He has also worked as a general pediatrician in Cumming and Dawsonville, GA.  Dr. Magat has a passion for mental health issues and community outreach and serves as a clinical advisor for a Bipolar Depression Support Group.  He also has spoken to and has been a part of speaking panels for local communities, schools, churches, and parent groups and has given lectures to health care providers through Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Dr. Magat has consulted with athletes, executives, and other professionals for enhancement of performance.
